Covington Wins at Paducah

Covington’s night started strong, winning his heat after a solid qualifying run that placed him second in his group. He carried that momentum into the dash, claiming the win and securing the pole for the feature. When the green flag dropped, Covington jumped to the lead and never looked back. With his Missile Motorsports/Outlaw Wings/KSE Products/Fisher Racing Engines-powered car dialed in, he led every lap en-route to his 20th career ASCS National Tour victory.
“It was a good win for us, and it felt great to get this one,” said Covington. “There’s just something about Paducah that clicks for me. The track had a lot of character, which made it a blast to drive. We’ve had speed all year, so it’s nice to get that monkey off our back early in the season, especially here, where we had a tire go down while leading last year. We've had some wins, but it had been a while since the last National Tour victory. We knew if we stayed the course, it would come together. This sport is humbling, and it can really test you. Moments like this remind you why you grind through all the tough nights in-between.”
“I want to give a sincere thank-you to Steven for all his hard work this year, and to all of our sponsors, supporters, and family who make it possible for us to compete at this level. Especially people like Vern Rengen, who has stood by me, not only financially, but by encouraging me, helping me grow as a driver, and lending his setup knowledge. He’s been a major asset to growing our program. Hopefully, we can keep this momentum going as the season kicks into high gear.”
Covington is slated to return to Knoxville Raceway this weekend piloting his Keizer Wheels/Smith Titanium/A-Rock Materials/Maxima Oil sprinter for more weekly action at the famed half-mile oval.
