Matt Covington
Covington takes over the Sooner and Lonestar point lead with the win!!!
Matt and the Covington Motorsports team went to Devils Bowls in hopes of a solid finish and a shot at taking over the ASCS Lonestar and Sooner point lead.
At the end of the night they would succeed and add a victory to go along with it. Matt drew the outside of the front row for the heat and took advantage to win the heat and put himself in the re-draw.
Matt drew 7th in the re-draw to start the feature. When the green flag dropped Matt started his pursuit to the front. By lap ten Matt worked his way to third and settled in behind Danny Jennings and Zach Chappell. Matt rode in third and gained on the leaders until a lap 16 crash and front stretch rumble between Chappell and Jennings. This gave Matt the lead and clear track in front of him to check out from the field with 14 laps to go and pick up his second win of the year.
Matt and the team look to carry the momentium into Lawton this weekend and see if they can pick up another win. If you are able to come to the races be sure and stop by the trailer and say hi or pick up your 2012 Matt Covington gear.
